Vanguard’s Retirement Plan Comparison Tool

Overview

The Vanguard Retirement Plan Comparison Tool was designed to empower users by providing contextual insights into their retirement plans. Utilizing data from Vanguard's "How America Saves," this tool enables users to understand their retirement savings behaviors, assess if participants are saving enough, and identify the strength of investment options available.

Objectives

  • Facilitate better-informed decision-making regarding retirement plans.

  • Enable users to interact with data to create insightful comparisons.

  • Provide a platform for viewing historical trends and benchmarking employee benefits based on real data from over four million Vanguard record-kept plan participants.

  • Allow for the creation and analysis of customized reports for stakeholder presentations.

My Role

As the UX Design Lead and strategist, my responsibilities included:

Setting Strategic Objectives

  • Collaborated with stakeholders to define the goals and user needs for the tool.

High-Fidelity Design Delivery

  • Created detailed, high-resolution design files that guided the development process.

Prototyping

  • Developed an interactive prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to showcase the site's functionality and flow.
